In order to drive our Mission and Vision, The Amy Foundation has 3 areas of focus:

PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT

To support teenagers and young adults between 13 and 24 with depression and other affective disorders.

The Amy Foundation seeks to ease the access to mental health services to teenagers and young adults through low cost psychological and psychiatric therapies. Also, there is a projection to have support groups for teens to provide a safe space where they can share their experiences under the supervision of a mental health professional

EDUCATION

To educate families, caretakers, teaching staff of teens and young adults in detection and treatment of affective disorders.

The Amy Foundation poses the importance of a well spread support network for families and caretakers of the teens and young adults with affective disorders, including their close friends and relatives. They play a key role in the early detection, in their accompaniment and success of their treatment. Through educational talks and workshops as well as parental support groups, we aim to provide information and the right toolset at the same time to reduce the emotional impact to their families and relatives.

SENSIBILIZATION

To raise awareness in the general public about affective disorders and their implications in a person’s quality of life.

The Amy Foundation’s proposal is to be a source of truthful and timely information about affective disorders through Social Media, with the main goal of eradicating the stigma surrounding mental health.

By encouraging conversations about early symptoms, warning signs, and myths, we believe we can create a society that is well informed and has more solidarity towards teens and young adults dealing with mental health issues.
